Sipling — Privacy Policy

Everything you enter stays on your phone; Sipling itself never sends your data to a server.

Your height, weight, age, what you drink, your trees — all of it lives only in your phone's own storage. Sipling has no server and no account system; none of this is sent to us.

There are two exceptions:

Ads. The free version shows Google AdMob ads, which needs an internet connection and the limited advertising data described below. Sipling Pro removes all ads, and then this processing does not happen at all.
Anonymous usage stats and crash reports (added in 1.0.6). Used to see which steps people get stuck on and where the app crashes. You can switch this off under Settings › App › "Anonymous usage stats"; while it is off, not a single record is sent.

What data do we process?

You can erase all of it at any time with Settings → Reset all data. Uninstalling the app has the same effect. Since we hold no copy, there is no deletion request to send us.

Ads and Pro

In the free version, ads are served by Google AdMob. To serve an ad, AdMob may process standard advertising data such as your device's advertising ID, an IP-based approximate location (country) and device type. Sipling does not collect or see this data — it goes straight to Google and is governed by Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Europe (GDPR): you are asked for explicit consent for personalised ads, and you can refuse.
iOS: the "Allow tracking" (ATT) prompt appears; if you say no, there is no tracking-based advertising.
Sipling Pro removes ads entirely; if you buy it, no advertising data is processed at all.

Pro can be bought in two ways: a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime payment. Both go through the Apple App Store / Google Play; those stores handle the payment data and Sipling never sees your card details. Terms: Terms of Use.

Anonymous usage stats and crash reports

From version 1.0.6, Sipling uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. The purpose is one thing only: to see which step people get stuck on and where the app crashes, so it can be fixed.

What is sent: did this step happen or not signals such as "finished the setup tour", "added a first glass", "reached a 3-day streak", "notification permission granted/denied", "saw the unlock offer", "bought Pro"; plus the crash stack (which code failed) together with device model, OS version, app version and a random app instance ID generated by Google.

What is never sent: your name, email, phone number, location, your water log, your height/weight/age, your goal, your trees. That data never leaves your phone.

To turn it off: go to Settings › App and switch off "Anonymous usage stats". The moment you do, both the stats and the crash reporting stop. Your choice is stored on your phone.

This data goes to Google and is governed by Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Firebase's own data-processing notes: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Health Connect

An optional feature you can switch on in Settings writes the water you drink into Android's shared health record (Health Connect). This feature is off by default and nothing is written until you turn it on and grant permission.

Sipling only writes. It never reads anything from Health Connect — read permission is not even in its permission list.
The only thing written is the amount and time of the fluid you drank (Hydration).
This data does not leave your phone; Health Connect also runs on your device.
You can switch the feature off in Settings and revoke the permission in the Health Connect app. Records already written can be deleted from Health Connect.

Permissions and why they are requested

`INTERNET`	To show ads (Google AdMob) and to send anonymous usage stats / crash reports. Your water log and your profile are never sent to the internet. If you switch the stats off and buy Pro, this permission is effectively unused.
`com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID`	Advertising ID — for AdMob ads. Controlled by ATT on iOS and by consent in Europe.
`BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE`	Added by Firebase Analytics (1.0.6). It reports which link the app was installed from on Play; it carries no personal data. Unused if you switch the anonymous stats off.

Location, camera, microphone, contacts and file permissions are not requested.

Children

Sipling is for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. The ads shown are not configured as child-directed.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page is updated and the date above changes.

4 October 2026 (1.0.6): anonymous usage stats (Firebase Analytics) and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics) were added — both can be switched off in Settings. A one-time lifetime option was added to Pro. This English page was also brought in line with the Turkish one, which had already covered the ads added in July 2026.
11 July 2026 (1.0): Google AdMob ads and the Sipling Pro subscription were added to the free version.
